How a team works: owners, admins and members

Start a team guide 1 of 6 Next: Start a team and choose your seats

A team on exclusively.me is a club, squad, race team, academy or company that brings its people together: one place to give them Pro features, sort them into groups, and keep everyone's posts on message. Everyone in it is an individual first, with their own account and page that stay theirs. In the team, each person has one of three roles: owner, admin or member.

Everyone is an individual first

Your account, your page, your sponsors and your statistics are yours, on Free or Pro, whatever teams you're in. A team role is something you have in a team, on top of that, and you can have different roles in different teams. Leave a team and your account and page stay exactly as they are.

The three roles

The owner is an admin too, and is the one person who holds the bill. The owner can hand the team over to an active admin; the team's address and QR codes stay the same.

The steps

  1. Switch between your own account and your teams

Once you're in a team, your name at the top left of your dashboard (exclusively.me/yourname ▾) opens a menu: Your account, then each team you're in with your role in it, then Start a team. Pick a team to open it. Inside a team, the team's name sits in the same place, and its menu takes you back to your own account.

The menu under your name: your own account, a team you run, and Start a team.
  2. Owners and admins run the team from Team HQ

Pick the team from that menu. Team HQ's Overview shows what needs doing (join requests, members without a seat, invitations waiting for a parent) and a setup checklist. Members, Pages, Media and Settings sit across the top.

Team HQ's Overview for an admin: Actions on the left, Team setup on the right.
  3. Members open the team into their member view

A member sees Overview, Members (teammates who chose to show themselves), Message House (what the team wants said, right now, for their groups), Brand Guide and Sponsors. It's read-only: the team's guidance, ready for them and their AI to use.

The member view's Message House: what applies to this member right now, including a campaign for their group and an embargo.
  4. Each member chooses what the team can see

A team always sees that you're a member and which of its groups you're in. Anything more is your choice, on your Teams tab under My Connections: whether it can see your statistics, manage your pages, see your email address, and show you to your teammates. A team can make some of these a condition of joining; it says so before you join.

My Connections, Teams: one team, the member's status and groups, and the switches for what the team can see.

Seats

A seat gives one member Pro's features while they're in the team. The owner pays for the seats, and admins give them out. Someone who already pays for their own Pro joins without using a seat, and a member who leaves gives their seat back to the team.

What a team can never do

  • Post for you. Your AI writes posts with the team's guidance; you post them from your own accounts.
  • Own your account or your page, or keep them when you leave.
  • See your date of birth. For members under 18, a team sees an age group, and needs a parent's or guardian's agreement before they can join.

If something's different

I'm an admin but I can't see billing

Admins see the Team plan and billing history while they're active. Cancelling, closing the team and handing it over are the owner's alone.

I'm in two teams

Click your name at the top left (or, inside a team, the team's name) to move between your own account and each team. You can be an admin in one and a member in another.

Is a group the same as a team?

No. A group is part of a team, like Juniors, North or Under-14s. Campaigns in the message house can be for some groups only.

Do it with your AI

When you connect your AI (Connect your AI), it acts as you: it knows your own plan and pages, then each team you're in and your role there. So it can do admin things in one team and member things in another, and it can never do more than you can.
